The Brandywine Valley Stamp Club usually meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Brandywine Hundred Library in the upstairs meeting rooms. Annual dues are $15.00 and are due in January.

In addition, meetings of the Stamp Swap Club are planned three to four times during the year; see program schedule for details.

Next Meeting - Wednesday, February 8th!

The Prominent Americans

by Roger S. Brody

The Prominent Americans by Roger S. Brody The Prominent Americans, in general use from late 1965 into the early 1980’s recognized inspirational Americans who played an important role in shaping the nation’s cultural and intellectual traditions.

Of 25 Americans chosen, 17 had never before appeared on a U.S. postage stamp. In addition to sheet stamps, a total of six denominations were produced as panes for single and combination booklets and eight denominations were released in coil rolls. The Series introduced a number of innovations in ink, pre-gummed paper and booklet construction production technology.

LOCATION CHANGE:
Note that our February Meeting will be held at the Red Clay Creek Presbyterian Church at the corner of Millcreek Rd and McKennans Church Road. Park in the lower lot - at the intersection - and enter at the second level stairwell. Meeting is in room 206. Here is a link to a map for the church (the entrance stairs are just a few feet to the left of the "pushpin" icon on the map).

BVSC Meetings
We start regularly scheduled monthly club meetings at 6:00 with a half hour of informal socializing, stamp talk and networking.
The formal meeting starts at 6:30 pm with club news and business, followed by the program. We typically have a 50/50 drawing at each meeting (3 tickets/$1) to benefit our educational programs. Visitors are encouraged to join us at 6:00 for a meet and greet with our regular members.
